Beautiful and Easy Handmade Fall Cards
Fall is such a cozy season for crafting, and what better way to celebrate it than by making your own handmade fall greeting cards? If you’ve been looking for fall card ideas, especially if you’re new to card making, you’ll love these projects. I’m sharing four easy greeting cards handmade with my own card making kits and printable sentiments.
These DIY greeting cards are not only simple to create but also perfect for beginners because they rely on card making printables that you can print, cut, and glue. You don’t need fancy tools—just a printer, scissors, glue, and a little creativity!
I do recommend printing on card stock for the best results, but for these cards I actually used regular copy paper. My printer doesn’t handle card stock, and I wanted to show that you can still make sturdy, beautiful cards without special equipment. The trick is to glue your printed elements onto white card stock (using a glue that won’t warp the paper!) and then cut them out again. That way, you still get the sturdiness of card stock while working with a basic printer. I’ll be sharing more ideas on how to use card making printables if your printer doesn’t support card stock, so be sure to bookmark my blog not to miss those tips.
When it comes to card bases, I mixed it up—some are store-bought, some came directly from my printable kits, and others I cut from plain white card stock. (Check out my previous blog post and you’ll see that having premade card bases is one of my favorite tips for quicker, more enjoyable card making.) Since I used different kinds of bases here, I won’t be going into detail about them in each card description. Instead, I’ll focus on the designs and printable elements themselves, because that’s what really makes these cards stand out.
Card 1 – Simple Cozy Wishes Card
For this card, I used:
Printable fall card making kit (dotted stripe)
Printable fall collage sheets (background, stripe, and fall details)
Printable fall sentiments collection (“Cozy Wishes” sentiment)
I started with a premade card base and added a soft neutral background that looks a bit like vintage wallpaper. On top of that, I placed two patterned stripes to resemble a carpet. Then I cut out a cozy sofa element from my printable kit and popped it up with double-sided foam tape to give the card dimension.
This design instantly gives a warm, homey feel—like curling up indoors on a crisp autumn day. To finish it off, I added the “Cozy Wishes” sentiment and a small acorn next to it for a seasonal touch.
This card would be lovely for sending to a close friend or family member to let them know you’re thinking of them and wishing them a cozy fall.

By attaching the chairs with foam tape, the whole layout pops out like a little scene. This DIY greeting card is perfect to send to a loved one who is far away—whether it’s a family member, a friend who moved, or a partner you’re missing.
Card 2 – Flipped Motifs for a Miss You Card
For this card, I used:
Brown card stock for the stripe
One of the fun things about my printables is that many elements come in flipped versions. This way, you can place them facing left or right depending on your design. For this card, I wanted to show how you can use both versions together.
I chose two comfy armchairs facing each other (the background again gives that “living room wallpaper” vibe) and set them on a brown “carpet” stripe. Above the two chairs, I placed a “Miss You” sentiment to highlight the empty chairs and create a story-like feeling. A single fall leaf adds to the autumn atmosphere.
Card 3 – Cute Fall Card for Girls
For this card, I used my printable card making kit with with fall-themed collage sheets. I glued the dotted fall background onto my card base, then added a “Happy Birthday” sentiment that I first reinforced by gluing onto white card stock. I did the same with the adorable fairy sitting on a pumpkin.
The fairy was a little trickier to cut out since she has delicate details, but don’t worry—imperfect cutouts are part of the charm of handmade cards. They show that the card was made with care, not mass-produced, which makes it even more special.
This card would be a delightful birthday greeting for a little girl, a kindergartener, or even a young niece or cousin who loves whimsical and magical designs. It’s also a sweet option for a friend who enjoys fairies or fantasy themes.

Card 4 – Cheerful Celebrate Card
For this card, I used:
Printable fall card making kit (premade print-and-cut card base)
Washi tape
This card came together quickly but looks so cheerful! I used a premade card base from my kit, printed on card stock, and folded. To create a “table,” I placed a strip of black washi tape, then added two coffee-to-go cups on top using double sided foam tape.
For the sentiment, I cut out printable “Celebrate” sentiment with my Sizzix Big Shot (using a stitched rectangle die), but if you don’t have a die-cutting machine, scissors or a craft knife will work just fine. Two fall leaves complete the look and tie the design to the season.
The foam tape under the cups and sentiment gives the scene a fun, dimensional effect—like you’re sitting at a café. This card is perfect for celebrating a new job, a passed exam, a promotion, or simply for a birthday with your favorite coffee-loving friend.
